All of the following books are located in the library's reference collection, located on the first floor of the library. These books cannot be checked out, although older versions may be available for circulation and are located the second floor. In some cases, the organizations that publish these books, such as the U.S. Department of Labor, also the offer same information online. Check the Web Site section for links to reliable online information sources.

Encyclopedia of careers and vocational guidance
13th ed.
Volume 1 begins with an overview of information for choosing and starting a career, finding and applying for jobs, and understanding rights as an employee; readers are directed to futher information via annotated listings of websites. Then, 93 career fields from accounting to wood are described in terms of background, structure, outlook, and vocabulary. In the subsequent volumes, 738 career articles, arranged alphabetically, range from three to five pages in length, each including a section on how to obtain further information.
